Nov. 22nd, 2011 11:15 amNO NO NO OH HELL NO.
SERIOUSLY, DO WE NOT GET BOMBARDED ENOUGH ALREADY.
A new generation of contact lenses that project images in front of the eyes is a step closer after successful animal trials, say scientists.
The technology could allow wearers to read floating texts and emails or augment their sight with computer-generated images, Terminator-syle.
This is not quite as bad as I originally thought- the headline called them 'bionic lenses', which gave me the mistaken impression that these things were being designed for implantation. And the full deal is still some ways off. But the full deal that they're reaching for is not a good idea. Jesus. Except for some specialized applications like rescue work and whatnot, nobody needs to be that close to their computer or that tied in to the Net.
No. Just no.

Date: 2011-11-23 04:12 pm (UTC)Now this is going to sound all stalkerish, but for the last few years, I've checked out your page on fanfiction.net every now and then and checked your homepage every now and then to read all the awesome stories again and maybe, just maybe find something new. Today I decided to do some google-fu and found this livejournal. Now I realize that you're probably not going to finish my favourite fanfic ever, about John Constantine teaching at Hogwarts, but I want to say anyway that I really really really love that idea and I think you're an awesome writer. That one and the one with Samuel Vimes in the Silmarillion-story has stuck with me. Thanks for many laughs!

Date: 2011-11-23 04:19 pm (UTC)I also lost my password to FFN and no amount of attempting to get it back has succeeded, so I've created a new account there under the user name 'camwynya'. Most of what I've posted since then has been Fallout fanfic, though, so I don't know how interested you're likely to be.
Thank you very much for letting me know, though! I'm glad you liked it.
