SERIOUSLY, DO WE NOT GET BOMBARDED ENOUGH ALREADY.
A new generation of contact lenses that project images in front of the eyes is a step closer after successful animal trials, say scientists.
The technology could allow wearers to read floating texts and emails or augment their sight with computer-generated images, Terminator-syle.
This is not quite as bad as I originally thought- the headline called them 'bionic lenses', which gave me the mistaken impression that these things were being designed for implantation. And the full deal is still some ways off. But the full deal that they're reaching for is not a good idea. Jesus. Except for some specialized applications like rescue work and whatnot, nobody needs to be that close to their computer or that tied in to the Net.
No. Just no.
