Characters I Have Considered Apping At Milliways, But Would Not Actually App, For Various Reasons:

1. Constable Fuse, from Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. ETA: Fuse would suck at Milliways for reasons laid out in a comment below. However, I think he'd make a splendid Apharsites character for someone who knew his canon well.

2. Camilla n'ha Kyria, from the Darkover novels by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

3. White Fang, from White Fang, by Jack London.

4. Sergeant Frank William Preston of the North-West Mounted Police, from Challenge of the Yukon.

5. Father Eugene Mackenzie, MI6's on-staff priest, from "Eleanor Rigby". (No, seriously. Of course he's writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear, and no one is saved at the funeral, etc. None of the people in his congregation officially exist.)

6. Aule, the smith of the Valar, from The Silmarillion. Similarly, no go on Ulmo.


Characters I Have Considered Apping And Might Conceivably App Someday, Maybe, After One Or More Of The Others I Play Is Gone:

1. Romilly MacAran, from Hawkmistress!, by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

2. Paksenarrion Dorthansdotter of Three Firs, from Sheepfarmer's Daughter, Divided Allegiance, and Oath of Gold, by Elizabeth Moon.

3. Major Thomas Condon Hogarth, from "Space Oddity" by David Bowie and "Major Tom" by Peter Schilling. (We do not speak of his mention in "Ashes to Ashes" by David Bowie, thank you.)

4. Kull, from Robert E. Howard's King Kull, though if I were to app him I'd really need someone to app a Brule to go along with him.

5. Randolph Carter, from H. P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands cycle.

I need to snag some of his canon first. I've put down a bid on "Doctor Who and the Silurians" on eBay but will be keeping an eye out for other episodes as I go. He, like Annie, will be another character who cannot ever be in the room at the same time as Sergeant Wells. I would RPsterbate myself into a migraine.

White Fang is an amazing character, and I can see how amusing it would be to roleplay someone who is intelligent and expressive but can't actually talk or understand what people say. Definitely a challenge.

The player who runs Gromit, or who did run Gromit (I think RL ate her, poor thing), did an absolutely amazing job with the technically non-verbal communication. And our Pokemon characters do pretty darn well with nothing but their names to speak by. White Fang would be harder, but quite rewarding.

However, roughly three quarters of the Bar would be trying to love him into total rehabilition within seconds of his arrival, three-sixteenths would be trying to make him into an even more vicious guard dog or Ultimate Fighter, and the remainder would probably be the nicer lycanthropes.

Yeah, earlier on allows for more entertaining possibilities along the way. And I promise not to suddenly decide that his character development calls for- Well, I was gonna mention some of the twists I've seen hit characters at Milliways, but he's looking at me very sternly indeed, so I won't mention them.

And yeah, we've got thedoctorwho. Currently he's Ten, though we've had prior regenerations turn up as well.

I considered apping Joan from Maxwell's Silver Hammer, even wrote a lengthy character background for the app.(She studied pataphysical science! There has to be an interesting backstory there.)

But like Skippy, I decided she worked better as the subject of a fic than a pup.

For the best, since when going over the cast list I realized someone has apped Maxwell . . . and that would go badly.

And I appreciate being missed, but when I app the Brigadier, I'm probably going to remove Jah-lila from circulation. Possibly Gimli as well- as much as I love him and the Bar needs a smith, I don't really have much plot-call for him. So that's two shucked off for one put on.

Aphar is a fascinating game and it tends to suck the entirety of my brain away. I was established at Milliways first, and know more people there OOCly as well as ICly. I have been happy at both places- but I have been happier at Milliways longer, and the only way I could really pick up at Aphar again would be if I dropped Milliways or cut it down severely, which I would really rather not do.

I never liked Camilla, but that's possibly because I was a Magda/Jaelle shipper before I knew the term "shipper" existed. Romilly could be fun.

The reason I considered Camilla in the first place isn't so much that she's a cool character as because there are very few people in the Bar from similarly medievalist milieus who can hope to out-angst her- and she doesn't angst. I hate characters who get incapacitated by their own Woe.

And I know what you mean about Randolph Carter. I get the urge myself about once a month. I usually end up talking myself out of it by saying his Dreamlands just wouldn't mesh with the Endless. (True, Madb's found a successful approach for Nyarlathotep, but add Carter and you really start to force what I would consider an unresolvable Lovecraft v. Gaiman canon-concept war. But that's me.)

Glad to hear you're planning on the Brigadier, though. Seeing him in the bar would be a joy. Not to mention his meeting Agent K.
