Great stuff, as usual.

One thing that I'm looking for is for Constantine to do something bad. Talking this over with Naomi, she pointed out that most of the Constantine she's seen has been the Neil Gaiman Constantine, who is somewhat gentler than the John Constantine of other authors, but one Constantine image that sticks in my mind is where he takes a chainsaw to Gabriel's wings -- Ennis' Constantine isn't nearly as nice as Gaiman's.

So, in conclusion, I'm enjoying what you're writing; it's got the characters and the world done right. But I'd love to see Constantine really screw someone over. Maybe Dumbledore, if he could manage it without interfering with his chance at getting back home. Because Dumbledore is really kind of a dick.

Actually, to a greater extent it's been the Warren Ellis Constantine- I only know the Gaiman version from the Books of Magic original miniseries, and I haven't actually touched my copy of that in months on end. I have periodically pulled out my copy of the Haunted TPB and reread it. Granted, John is more of a bastard there than in what I've written so far, but Ellis' bastard is less generically horrible and more horrible towards people who really bloody deserve it.

But you're quite right; he needs to be more horrible, and soon. Beyond merely using an Unforgivable in front of the students, which I believe I'll have him do next chapter. I shall ponder this.
