I have official permission from my boss to include a section in the paper I'm writing up for our business continuity meeting this afternoon on What The Company Will Do If New York City Is Rendered Inaccessible Due To Giant Monster Attack.

No, seriously, the CFO said I could.


ETA: I will write this up sometime in the next few days, along with our other disaster response plans. Right now the boss just wants something general. Specific actions can follow later, which is good, because my adrenaline's run out.

Sir, let's be honest here; after what Roland Emmerich did with your story, you'd be completely entitled to stomp on a significant portion of New York City. I just want to make sure that neither you nor Rodan nor Mothra nor, heck, even Mr. Stay-Puft causes more incidental damage than deliberate damage. We'll get out of your way and head upstate to continue business operations elsewhere, and you can have a go at the local architecture.

I for one would be grateful if you had a go at the architecture owned by Donald Trump first, but set your own priorities.

Oh, it's not New York I blame so much as Hollywood. I want that town so bad my fangs itch.

(And I'd like to visit Chicago, just for a change, but getting all the way up through the Great Lakes without being spotted and intercepted is a tricky prospect.)
