during today's staff meeting. had the paper and everything.

And then the chairman sat down next to me.

*!&()*&!)&!

Well, I have the outline, and even though the CONTEST BLANKET OF DOOM is due on Saturday I can only knit so much in a given evening. I'll see what I can write tonight. At least I have John's Notes from the Field for this section written (including 'Prof. Sprout says no plant elementals here but if I ever do get Swamp Thing on the phone to send him 'round, she has some questions for him'). *mutter*

In the meantime, those of you who're seeing this journal because you recently friended me- I have no idea who half you people are. Would you mind being so good as to post a comment saying how you found me and what made you stick around? I know a lot of you fine folks are here because of the Thousand Word Silmarillion, but I was curious about the decision y'all made to hang about.

Hi! I friended you because I liked the Hellblazer crossover. *And* the Silmarillion. ;)

Well, I found the Hellblazer crossover first and went 'Whee!' and then the Simarillion thing with a side of knitting made me put you on my widget list.

*frowns thinkingly* Well, I've been around a little while, but still kinda new, so I guess I'll chime in. Found your journal by way of Quintus, thought your 'og' icon was cool, stuck around because you write fanfic that doesn't involve slash, got totally hooked on 'who ya gonna owl' and moderately hooked on 'helblaser: hogwarts'.

Someone posted a link to the H:H fic; I didn't want to miss any chapters. [grin] The I found the Ghostbusters crossover, and I was hooked.

A friend of mine mentioned Hellblazer/Hogwarts, and after reading what had been posted to date of that, I decided that I needed to friend you in order not to miss any of it.

Found you through [livejournal.com profile] deleterius and the Thousand Word Silmarillion, got hooked on Hellblazer:Hogwarts, and then got doubly hooked on Who Ya Gonna Owl?

Also, I've been pointing you out to friends of mine as an example of someone who does crossovers spectacularly well. So some people may have come here on my recommendation.

My girlfriend, [livejournal.com profile] kitanzi, pointed out your Hellblazer/Hogwarts fic to me last night. I read the whole thing and then loudly complained that there wasn't anymore. :)

Great stuff, keep up the good work!

Someone/community posted up a link to your 1000 Word Silmarillion, and it was far too choice to pass up the chance of perhaps reading more from someone so brilliant.

Came via the 1000-word _Silmarillion_, stayed for the ongoing fic (and you even got me to bone up on my John Constantine history!).

Haven't friended you yet, but am a frequent Lurker. I suppose because I find your comments on Deletrius amsuing and insightful and I'm horribly addicted to you H:H story.

Hallo!
Got directed to the 1000-word-Silmarillion (which I love, and haven't even read the book), hit your journal just to find out who had made such Highly Amusing Whimsy, found H:H and Who Ya Gonna Owl, and wanted very muchly to keep up with the story. Same road in as most everyone else here, really. But you do VERY VERY well with the crossovers--it's always hard to get it right when you're melding two worlds (heck, most people can't get it right just writing in one) and you do very well--I've really really really enjoyed it. (Which is especially neat when you consider that NONE of this is in any of my primary fandoms).
For who I am, well, My life, she is boring. But I've been really enjoying your stories.

BTW, I'd love to have you in my quote list for "Avada Kedavra is not a bug zapper" --just attribute to Camwyn?

I found you due to the Silmarillion, which I saw linked through several different LJs, and made many gleeful noises when I found you do really GOOD crossovers of things I haven't seen anyone cross before. I've also been recommending you to various people, so please keep it up! Marvelous stuff!

I'd have to dig, but I think I found you through somebody [livejournal.com profile] metaquotesing the "Things I Am No Longer Allowed to Do at Hogwarts" list. I've never looked back and have no plans to. ^_^

[livejournal.com profile] mephron mentioned Hellblazer: Hogwarts on a board I frequent, and Who You Gonna Owl? was just too funny not to stick around for.

Found you through Hellblazer:Hogwarts. I stayed because the fic was great, and also because you have the most interesting crossover ideas. Is that enough reason?

At the risk of saying what every single other person is saying....

Hellblazer: Hogwarts.

Though I find much of the rest of your journal pleasently readable/interesting as well.

I stumbled upon your journal somehow (can't remember) with makeover Hermione, thought "hey, this person can write", forgot about it, stumbled back for the beginning of Hellblazer: Hogwarts, thought "hey, I recognise that name", came back fairly regularly for more, went "oh wow that is so cool" at Sixth Age story, thought "I must watch this person more closely", forgot about it for a while, read Thousand Word Silmarillion, thought I had to at least say "hello", am now regularly getting comic books out of the library because of you. :)

Um, to tell you the truth I can't exactly remember. I'd seen you around at deleteruis and then I think I saw you discussing the idea for a really interesting crossover on fanficrants and so decided to friend you so I could see when that came up. And lo, the good fic rolled on and on and there was much rejoicing and very little unfriending. Yeah.

I, too, found you by way of a link to the Thousand Word Silmarillion, the link being from gary (http://www.sciencefictiontwin.com/blog/blog.asp). 'Though I'm not a LiveJournal user, I blogrolled you on my site aLife Worth Living (http://homepage.mac.com/kdavies/). Just too dang funny NOT to link!

Plus, you linked to the Books for Soldiers.

hello. this is lurking yukon-gal again.

hi. i came for the silmarillion. but i stayed because anyone who has an og living in their head is worth paying attention to.

is og familiar with the secret world of og? weird but beloved book for young impressionable children, written by loopy canadian pierre burton some time ago. it's about strange green people who live underground, eat mushrooms with rabbit sauce, and learn how to speak english by reading comic books. og might not recognize any of characters, but enjoy some of the dialogue.

"og. og?"
"OG og og."

and so forth.

They did a cartoon version of this back ages ago--I thought I was the only one in the whole wide world who remembered. I'll have to check out the book now. Thanks!

you are not alone

From: [identity profile] sundre.livejournal.com
yeah, that's the one. illustrated by burton's daughter, and the kids whose names all begin with "p" are based loosely on his own children.

you are now the third non-relative of mine who remembers it. it lives on my bookshelf. it is very cool. especially the pollywog in jail. and other stuff.

....I came across this post while googling for random terms in hopes of figuring out what this animated thing I remember from my childhood was called, which I do every couple years, but this is the first time google led me here and I've been trying to solve this mystery for over twenty years and thanks to you guys I think I just did.

You have no idea how happy this makes me. I would fill this post up with exclamation points to get my point across but that would be super annoying so just know that this means a lot to me and imagine a long string of dancing cat gifs.

I remember it too, if only in the vaguest ways; I think I saw it when I was five.

I think I've been asking if anyone knew what it was since I was seven.

@_@

Well, I'm not a LiveJournal user, but I found you when someone posted a link to H:H in the 'Other People's Fanfiction' section of the Drunkard's Walk < http://www.eclipse.net/~rms/dwmain.html > forums. Decided to check back daily or so when I found both 'Who you gunna Owl?' and the Sgt. Preston fics to be equally enjoyable.

How I came here...

The Silmarillion hooked me in ("Right, you're out of the band."), and H:H kept me in.

To steal a phrase from the Lois McMaster Bujold boards I hang out on occasionally:

"Write, Camwyn, Write!" :-)

This is weird...

Google's got me on the first link for "Hellblazer: Hogwarts" that isn't you. Didn't think I was that well linked...
