Well, I have the outline, and even though the CONTEST BLANKET OF DOOM is due on Saturday I can only knit so much in a given evening. I'll see what I can write tonight. At least I have John's Notes from the Field for this section written (including 'Prof. Sprout says no plant elementals here but if I ever do get Swamp Thing on the phone to send him 'round, she has some questions for him'). *mutter*

In the meantime, those of you who're seeing this journal because you recently friended me- I have no idea who half you people are. Would you mind being so good as to post a comment saying how you found me and what made you stick around? I know a lot of you fine folks are here because of the Thousand Word Silmarillion, but I was curious about the decision y'all made to hang about.

Got directed to the 1000-word-Silmarillion (which I love, and haven't even read the book), hit your journal just to find out who had made such Highly Amusing Whimsy, found H:H and Who Ya Gonna Owl, and wanted very muchly to keep up with the story. Same road in as most everyone else here, really. But you do VERY VERY well with the crossovers--it's always hard to get it right when you're melding two worlds (heck, most people can't get it right just writing in one) and you do very well--I've really really really enjoyed it. (Which is especially neat when you consider that NONE of this is in any of my primary fandoms).
For who I am, well, My life, she is boring. But I've been really enjoying your stories.

BTW, I'd love to have you in my quote list for "Avada Kedavra is not a bug zapper" --just attribute to Camwyn?

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. My friends and I in college used to spend quite a lot of idle-time (you know, walking to somewhere or waiting for the bus from the movie theatre back to campus) speculating on some of our favourite entertainment, and how to go about crossing stuff over, just to see what would happen... maybe that counted as practice. I don't know. I'm just glad folks like it.

And yeah, attributing it to Camwyn is fine.

I stumbled upon your journal somehow (can't remember) with makeover Hermione, thought "hey, this person can write", forgot about it, stumbled back for the beginning of Hellblazer: Hogwarts, thought "hey, I recognise that name", came back fairly regularly for more, went "oh wow that is so cool" at Sixth Age story, thought "I must watch this person more closely", forgot about it for a while, read Thousand Word Silmarillion, thought I had to at least say "hello", am now regularly getting comic books out of the library because of you. :)

I'd seen you around at deleteruis and then I think I saw you discussing the idea for a really interesting crossover on fanficrants and so decided to friend you so I could see when that came up. I sent off my first package to one of the people listed at Books for Soldiers today. Bunch of old Jet Li and Sammo Hung movies, plus a book on the martial arts and a bunch of stuff from the pharmacy/personal care section at Pathmark. It's tough to find unscented items sometimess.

hi. i came for the silmarillion. but i stayed because anyone who has an og living in their head is worth paying attention to.

is og familiar with the secret world of og? weird but beloved book for young impressionable children, written by loopy canadian pierre burton some time ago. it's about strange green people who live underground, eat mushrooms with rabbit sauce, and learn how to speak english by reading comic books. og might not recognize any of characters, but enjoy some of the dialogue.

Decided to check back daily or so when I found both 'Who you gunna Owl?' and the Sgt. Preston fics to be equally enjoyable.

yeah, that's the one. illustrated by burton's daughter, and the kids whose names all begin with "p" are based loosely on his own children.

you are now the third non-relative of mine who remembers it. it lives on my bookshelf. it is very cool. especially the pollywog in jail. and other stuff.

Actually, I'd never heard of them. My Og is largely the result of realising the armor from Total Justice Green Lantern action figures would fit perfectly on the rubber australopithecine my uncle bought at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. The caveman version of the Green Lantern Oath went something like, "In.... day. In... not-day. Og see all bad thing. You like do bad thing, be scared of GREEN FIRE CARRY THING!"

But I shall have to check this Secret World of Og thing out...

....I came across this post while googling for random terms in hopes of figuring out what this animated thing I remember from my childhood was called, which I do every couple years, but this is the first time google led me here and I've been trying to solve this mystery for over twenty years and thanks to you guys I think I just did.

You have no idea how happy this makes me. I would fill this post up with exclamation points to get my point across but that would be super annoying so just know that this means a lot to me and imagine a long string of dancing cat gifs.

I remember it too, if only in the vaguest ways; I think I saw it when I was five.

I think I've been asking if anyone knew what it was since I was seven.
