Wanted something that matched the existing studs if possible. Said he was having trouble finding them, except in boxes that cost a ridiculous amount (he said $40 or $50, I don't know how many were in the box).
I'm not sure where he was searching but it turns out that if you go to Etsy instead of a search engine, it's a lot easier to find things like that at very reasonable prices. Especially if you go to the vendors' websites, where they sell smaller quantities of the same items they have listed in quantities of 50-100. Punks like to make their own studded leather paraphernalia, and a stud that will hold its own in a leather wristband will probably hold its own in the thickness of leather used to cover a chair's seat.
Studs and Spikes had a number of sizes of pyramid studs in a number of colors, with notes about being suitable for leather craft and use on denim. Dad just needed four. We'll see how it goes, but I think he should be good.
