The beach yesterday was lovely, even if there was little to no sun. I got to go in the ocean. There is very little that improves my mood like being tossed around by the most powerful elemental force on Earth. It was cold water, yeah, but I'm good with that. I got out after a while because the waves were getting more insistent- let the surfers play with those if they like. I know when the ocean is done with its friendly greetings and when it's moved on to warnings. You might as well play with a dog that's starting to wish you would leave it alone.

Bicycling alongside the boardwalk for miles at a stretch is nice, though. Flat road, good view, very few people because it's a weekday... I can live with that. And then there's the fact that I got to take the train down and up. Yeah, I complained yesterday about the guy on the cell phone and the hip-hop listeners who were not using earphones, but they were minor annoyances. I like train travel. I like sitting on the platform waiting, reading, knowing that I'll go somewhere soon but that right now, it's all out of my hands. It's very relaxing.

All in all, a good day yesterday.

Oh poo.

Dynamic Bicycles can't ship my bike yet; the Sprint production run didn't make it over on the most recent container ship. That's okay, I can live with that. I hope it arrives before the century in September, but if not- well, I'll get someone to re-angle the handlebars on Wanda for me, and pitch the seat properly. There are worse fates than riding a touring bike for a long distance.
