(no subject)

Going back to my parents' place tonight to visit the baby. Going to stay there tonight 'cos Mom needs a ride to physical therapy in the morning and Dad is taking her car for repairs and my sister is bringing the baby home from the hospital tomorrow anyway.

Did not particularly want to get pulled back into the household stuff, but I recognise the need to be helpful.

I wish I'd taken a picture...

Today when I was in Penn Station getting a train ticket to get to my parents' place, pick up the car, and go visit my sister and nephew in hospital, I spotted a fellow on line with a long, low-slung black dog on a leash. It seemed awfully solid-built about the head for a dachshund, but too light-boned for an off colour basset, so I crouched down and held out a hand. When the dog seemed pleased with the smell of me, I started petting him and asked his owner what he was.

... how the hell do you cross breed a dachshund and a black Labrador, anyway? never mind, I don't want to know...
