THE SCENE: An ICQ conversation taking place from a computer in my room.
DRAMATIS PERSONAE: Me, mephron, and the circuit breaker.

camwyn: There. I have achieved 75% visible floor in my room.
mephron: Huzzah!
mephron: I take it that doesn't include the space taken up by the bed?
camwyn: No. I have a platform bed, so 'under the bed' doesn't exist and can't be counted.
mephron: /me nods
camwyn: Right, that's enough; I'm going to anger the room gods. I just brought in... dun dun DUNNNNH... the vacuum cleaner!
mephron: No! You fool! You'll doom us all!
CIRCUIT BREAKER: Boom.

I am not dead, mephron is not dead as far as I know, and the house is still all right - but the vacuum cleaner outlet is on the same circuit as the air conditioner. So, er, looks like all I doomed was the circuit breaker. Oh well.

All right, going to Otakon.

Going down on the eighth (got the day off so I'm taking the morning bus), coming back on the ninth. Bus service good.

Will be buying a vest and some red hair spray next week so as to cosplay as Female Ranma. Have got all other clothing necessary and wire to hold up any braid I can manage.

Who of y'all is in the DC region and wants to meet me when I get there?

Unfortunately I haven't got a digital camera, so tomorrow I will find some way of getting my photograph taken. I intend to wear the mandarin collar cap sleeve sweater to work. The collar itself is weirdly baggy in some areas; I imagine the original yarn, which was some kind of viscose blend, probably had more structure to it than the silk/cotton blend I was using. Oh well. It does seem to work quite well, though...
