Some mornings, lazy pays off.
Jun. 12th, 2003 11:08 amCame in to work today in a long-sleeved maroon-purple linen shirt. It comes down over the waist a ways and it's only got a very little decorative stitching down around the bottom edges. I had black cotton pants on and the Mossimo flip-flops my sister gave me. No one seems to mind or object to the outfit being a touch on the casual side; in fact, the only comment I got on it from anyone was that I seemingly have a 'very Asian' look going on with my clothes today.
I suppose it is appropriate. I was in no mood for finding a clean pair of office pants and pressing them, so I wore my black karate uniform pants. I've got class tonight and the pants are in excellent condition, so they do look like office trousers, if somewhat oddly seamed. On the other hand, the top was chosen because it falls over the logo and drawstring closure. The flip-flops? I had no particular urge to seek out either socks or pantyhose and I do not currently possess a pair of office-worthy sandals. My boss hasn't said anything to me, and she generally objects to me immediately when I wear the wrong thing (usually jeans on Casual Friday), so I am assuming it's all right.
In other news, the sky is grey, the birds are active, and a small brownish bird with a cardinal-like crest and a diagonal black streak running upwards from the beak area past and around the eye has been attempting to dismantle the abandoned robin's nest one twig at a time.
