I went to the local Rag Shop at lunchtime and picked up about $16 worth of supplies - one skein of $8 metallic yarn, several bags of beads, and a spool of silver wire some forty yards long. 26 gauge, so it's more resilient than the 28 gauge I used to cast on the last necklace (see this post for what I mean). I threaded the beads and cast on at lunchtime. I'll be working on it some more and should have a new wire necklace done sometime tomorrow, knowing my track record... I'll post the results to the knitting community if anyone's interested.

I may need to change the default font on my browser away from sans-serif: I read the above and saw:
$8 metallic yam
and wondered to myself why one would need a bronze tuber.

*snicker* Silver, in this case, but yeah. I use the Arial font family and it gets bad that way when you put it into italics.
