Anybody in the Boston area have a place they can recommend that sells furniture at a moderate price? I rather like Ikea's style but I'm flexible. I'm looking for a loveseat or large armchair and a coffee table at the moment. Fabric, not leather. Nothing fancy.

Also, I did the stairs again. Ground floor to 33 (33 being rooftop access level 1- there's more upward stairs but I didn't take that flight, I think they're for HVAC). Did it in "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" + "Heart of Courage" + 1 minute 47 seconds of "Moskau". The right beat helps.

I'm trying to remember where we bought our bed and couch, but maybe that's not such a good idea, either, as Eor had to reinforce the bed frame - it was ridiculously flimsy.

I'm probably just going to go with Ikea. I've seen a bunch of other possibilities but they've always worked out well for me in the past. I found one place that sold what looked like rather nice recliners for not-bad prices, but when I looked at the customer reviews nobody was really happy with them, so I figure why not stick with the devil I know.

It would take little to NO arm twisting to convince me to rent a ZipCar/Van and trundle down to Ikea.

Should you want to go to Ikea.

I, sadly, know next to nothing about where to find furniture, moderately priced or not. My first instinct is to say Jordan's Furniture...but I have no idea what the price range there is because...again, I've never actually bought furniture before.

Came close, but the German delivery specialist told me that it wouldn't fit up the stairs.

I'm generally a big fan of Ikea; my couch is an Ektorp and my bed frame originally came from there, although I bought it on Craigslist. Once the check for my security deposit clears it would be cool to go. I know my stairs are wide enough and my doorways wide enough that the moving company was able to get the couch up and Sears was able to get a standard-sized Hotpoint stove up and take a Kenmore down, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem finding stuff that fits.

Also I hope your Ikea sells food because I generally make a point of coming home with a bag or two of candy (Swedish fish are Wotan's gift to the candy-inclined, especially if one can contrive to coat them in chocolate somehow) and a bag of frozen meatballs.

I may have Saturday afternoon free, but I have to double check to make sure I'm not scheduled to pick my sister up from the airport. Though I do have plans that evening around 8ish.

Or Sunday...depending on how badly overhung I am from the evening plans the night before.

Check it out and let me know. Amazon reports that they just shipped me the DVD twofer I ordered and that Santo y Blue Demon en La Atlantida and Santo y Blue Demon Contra Los Mostruos should be arriving on Saturday, but if they don't, Santo Contra Invasion Los Marcianos is still on the table.
