Dear brain:

I don't think we can really rewrite Hamlet as a weird Cybertronian propaganda drama with Starscream in the title role. Mostly because he would never ever ever allow the actual ending to happen, where everybody winds up dead and somebody who is not also Starscream rolls in to take over. Even if it does seem like the kind of thing he'd do, with a substitution of 'pretend to be incompetent and therefore not a threat' for 'pretend to be crazy'.

But if you've got a way to handle the Fortinbras part, I'm all auds.

Well, seriously. There's betrayal and scheming coming out exhaust ports every which way you turn and the central character's primary motivation is "HOW COME HE'S IN CHARGE AND I'M NOT??? THAT WAS TOTALLY SUPPOSED TO BE MY JOB!". That's got Screamer written all over it.

I have to agree with silveraspen, that is an amazing idea.

Nah, came up with a better one. Shockwave gets the lead part. A lot of mechs involved in the scheming wind up frozen/stasislocked/whatever. He and Megatron kill each other, and Screamer comes marchin' in to do the Fortinbras part.

Then the camera cuts away to Screamer congratulating Swindle on having written the most brilliant play on the planet- exactly the one Screamer had commissioned him to write.
