They've found West Nile Virus in a dead bird in one of my favourite places in New Jersey - Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.

I'm going to have to invest in an awful lot of DEET, aren't I.

The media is overhyping the danger -- like salmonella from raw eggs, it's only the very rare mosquito that has it, with only a slight chance it'll infect you, and only real danger if you're one of those with compromised immune systems (young, old, otherwise issue-prone).

Other than that, reasonable mosquito precautions should be fine.
