How you know your cat loves you:

On a day when it's 97 degrees out, and the air conditioner is only seriously cooling one room and marginally cooling another, and there is absolutely nothing barring her from sitting on the nice soft comfy human bed in the room with the air conditioning, she walks into the next room where the heat from the computer is slowly overcoming the air conditioning and opts to sit in the overly warm, less soft human lap.

I love my little former street cat.

Cats prefer heat. :) Last night I was going to sleep in my air-conditioned bedroom and every cat in the house piled on top of me because I was the only warm thing in the room.

Kamella avoids me when it's hot. I know it's time to turn the baseboard heat on when she starts climbing into my lap. To have her on my lap in summer is kind of unusual.

I don't know what I did to deserve her, but given what life on the streets of Queens must've been like for a kitten less than six months old, I like to think that I'm her reward for making it that far.
