For anyone who plays or used to play at milliways_bar and hasn't been following the back room lately: Milliways is moving to Dreamwidth!

They're using the opportunity to free up many old and retired characters for play, as well as to preserve as much of Milliways' history on Dreamwidth as possible against the possibility of LJ going kersplut.

Hmm. I might like to play again, albeit with new characters; I only stopped playing because I was in the hospital for seven months from August 2005 to February 2006. You couldn't be absent for that length of time and still be a player; it was against the rules. So I pretty much gave up.

New characters wouldn't be a problem. We're at work reconstructing the cast list and seeing who's available and who's not, so you'll have access to that information as soon as everyone else does and be able to apply if you want.

A side community for the rare occasions when people feel the need, for whatever reason, to RP stuff in the Milliways bathrooms. I think it began when people just wanted to do the IC bathroom stall graffiti.

Thank you. I created two journals and filled out the "Join Cast List" form twice. Do I have to do anything else, like fill out/create an application?

Yeah, but if you check the link in that boilerplate there, you'll see that it's not app time for the new place yet. We've had a link to the schedule of migration-related events in that text since the beginning, and the Milliways application process is in the game profile- has been for years. People have to create journals, join the cast list, and send in their applications during the time when the apps are open.

I found the application information--through the Milliways Wiki, of all places. I'm sorry about the mix-up. I've written up the applications for the two journals and will hold onto them until March 1 when I'll try again.

Actually, now I'm kind of wondering where you got the idea that this was against the rules from. We've never had an activity requirement or an activity check other than maybe once a year or so asking folks who hadn't posted in that time if they wanted to still hold onto pups that other people were asking for.

I don't know. That's what I believed at the time, though, and that's why I didn't return after I came home. I figured that my characters were already effectively gone.

Ah, okay. Yeah, no. We don't have an activity check/requirement. We're too lazy to do something like that on any kind of regular basis.

I'm one of the mods there; I can answer whatever questions you might have. It's panfandom, with characters free to come and go as they please, only being stuck there if their muns want them to be. We used to have a number of Cybertronian pups- I played two of them, actually- but it looks as if most of that slate's going to be wiped clean when we move. (I say most because we have someone who plays both Rad and Unicron who may be making the move with us. Yes, that Unicron. Long story short, he's ICly held in check by the fact that the head of Security can teleport both a Prime and a Matrix of Leadership onto the premises at will at any time. OOCly there are other factors as well.)

Also, we don't do activity checks unless someone is idle for a very long time and somebody else asks us to contact them about a specific character, and we don't require HMDs or any other form of 'am I sticking to canon characterization' criticisms. I honestly had no idea what those were when I arrived at Axiom.

There are a few reasons I left Milliways back in the day, and while I'm slightly interested in rejoining, I'm not sure it would be with Kitt. He's happy off in his own universe. But I would still have some questions that are probably not best asked in a public venue.

Okay, so I've gone through the old cast list and all of my characters were purged long ago; seriously, there is not a one I ever played on there. And I actually -- really -- don't want to import their content, because of how I really need to not have any association with who I was in high school, so I hope there's no hard feelings there. I highly doubt anyone's going to backread my threads that far!

So I think I've actually done my part now; time to sit back and read the Allpocalypse.

(I feel so bad that I'm going to app a character from The Fuller Memorandum after.)
