Whaddya know, user name 'camwyn' was available at Dreamwidth.

I'm not migrating, since I want to squeeze these bastards for every last penny I've paid them this year and will never see again, but I figured I might as well secure my user name in case I got mad enough to do so later.

For site-schemed comment pages, the comment form has been changed. No preview or spell check. No subject line. The drop-down list of icon keywords is not available, only a browse option.

And if someone (like me) is viewing everything in their scheme, and their scheme has custom comment pages, and they add a subject, as far as I know users viewing it in the site-schemed pages can't see it.

When logged in to your Dreamwidth account, on the main page go to "Organize" and choose "Import Content" which will take you to https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/importer - you can follow the prompts there. You do have to give it your LJ password.

Also, lots of people have been doing it in the last 24 hours, so you then have to be very patient as your request waits (and waits and waits and waits) in the queue. But it will eventually pull over everything you ask it to (or notify you, if there's a failure).

And you can set up cross-posting if you want and write posts there so they appear at both, but I periodically re-import to get comments from LJ anyway. (Not, I think, this week. Poor servers are busy enough!)

Organize menu, Manage Account option, Other Sites tab. :) Also requires giving Dreamwidth (and either giving it every time, or letting it store) your LJ password.

AND EVEN MORE INTERESTING the icon I chose for the previous comment didn't show up because it was "inactive" and there was no indication in the drop-down menu that I couldn't use it. Thanks a lot, LJ.
