Okay, so, finished Lonesome Road last night. Glad to see the longstanding Fallout tradition of Talking Your Way Out Of It is still an option. Not everybody is Father Elijah, after all. I haven't been everywhere in the Divide yet, but now that I've done the big stuff I can go back later and poke around without Expository NPC being Portentously Symbolic at me. I can also poke around on the Wiki without fear of spoilers; I avoided loading any of the Fallout Wiki pages that could have had anything to do with the DLC until I was done, just to make sure I was blundering through blindly on my own and enjoying it properly. (I've since found out that I was very lucky in my blind blundering, as it never took me into one particular cave. The words "unique variant of the Legendary Deathclaw" were involved. Given that the Legendary Deathclaw is ALREADY a unique variant, of the I KNOW WHERE GOD IS, AZATHOTH ATE HIM variety, I do not think I want to meet Rawr any time soon.)

Anyway. Got a lot of stuff to do at work and this weekend, but once I've done it I'll do my best to pick up on Janice's story and resume the old Camwyn Stinks At Video Games series. She was about to head to the Old Mormon Fort and acquire a new follower. I'm going to be including the DLC after all, just because, well, I can- and because it provides opportunities to keep Janice away from the A-storyline, which is something I was trying hard to do in my original playthrough anyway.

So, yeah. Should be fun.

Dealing to Rawr is actually relatively easy, if you have the right toys. I finished him off by doping up on Buffout, a Sierra Madre Martini, Rushing Water, Jet, Med-X, Rebound, and Psycho, then using the holorifle that my character Siobhan has an almost religious reverence for to pop off a series of headshots. Had to flip to the Pip Boy one time to stimpack back up, but made it out in one somewhat battered piece.
