Sep. 22nd, 2011 08:18 amHrrf. Awake, at work, dealing with the day, having caffeine for the first time since I gave blood on Tuesday. Also doing my best not to reach for the bag of candy my co-workers recently gave me, because it is my favorite candy and because if I eat any more of it I will get chemical burns on my tongue.
No, seriously. The candy in question is Atomic Fireballs.
No, that has nothing to do with Fallout. I was eating the things before Interplay even came up with the first game.
Speaking of Fallout, though, I've pulled down the last chunk of Fallout New Vegas downloadable content- Lonesome Road. It's supposed to fill in background and history for the Courier and some of the major conflicts of the game. I say 'supposed to' because the major expository NPC has mostly been talking in evasive references so far and not giving a whole lot of specifics about anything other than other downloadable content. This is annoying to me. This is very annoying to me. If it weren't for the fact that said expository NPC has a voice that sounds like someone engineered a cross between Keith David and Isaiah Mustafa, I would be really pissed off. I'm also not very happy about a particular seemingly mandatory plot event that I was railroaded into, but we'll see how that goes when all is said and done. For all I know, there might have been a way around that event and I just didn't find it.... and even if it was genuinely mandatory, so far it doesn't seem to be anywhere near the OH HAYL NO level of the mandatory plot events of Point Lookout.
... I should probably get back to my original Camwyn Stinks At Videogames series on New Vegas, huh. Would people still read that?
Anyway. Lonesome Road is interesting so far, but it's grim as hell. It's up there with Dead Money, that's for certain. We'll see if that changes as I play. I'm avoiding all spoilers and will do my best to avoid dumping spoilers on y'all unless they're clearly marked and cut.
Thanks for your patience.
