Sep. 15th, 2011 10:15 amDear brain:
Next time, before settling on a daemon for a character, please take the daemon's species' natural habitat into account. Someone whose daemon becomes a hippopotamus is going to be miserable in the Capital Wasteland.
Please, please, please consider whether a Cape buffalo or a white rhino can be substituted as Fawkes' daemon. I know you really want him to have the second deadliest animal in Africa as an indicator of just how dangerous he can be, but it's freakin' semi-aquatic. Unless you want him to spend most of his time in the vicinity of the Potomac or assisting at Project Purity you're really going to need to swap that hippo out for another species.
Love,
Me.

Date: 2011-09-15 02:53 pm (UTC)Distant third place alternative: Grevy's zebra. Not quite the same level of Rule 87 as the other species for size, but it's still big and it's the only animal in the drive-through safari I visited that had multiple "For the love of God, do NOT hold out food in your hand for this animal, PUT THE FOOD ON THE GROUND AND CLOSE THE WINDOW IMMEDIATELY" warnings. So it's at least somewhat dangerous, plus there's the whole 'I would rather be roaming free' aspect.

Rhinos are pretty cool, though.
