I got off track with the pushups workout after the Climb To The Top. This was partly laziness on my part, and partly that my office temporarily closed its gym while we did some renovations. It's harder to motivate myself to roll out the mat and do pushups at home, and infinitely harder to motivate myself to do situps when I can't hook my feet under anything. I finally decided to get back in gear whether they were done with renovation or not and brought my mat to the office on Tuesday; I rolled it out in the stairwell after I'd done basement to 45 and came down to the 29th floor. Figured I'd see how I did with the two minute time frames for the Army physical fitness test, and then go back to the six week workouts.

Well, I didn't do so good on situps. I got 35 done and they all had pretty bad form since I had my arms in front of me and nothing to hook my feet under. Army minimum is 45 in two minutes for my age group and you're supposed to have your hands behind your head. Well, okay, I've got until May to get that right. On the other hand, Army minimum pushups for a woman my age? 17 in two minutes. Maximum for a full 100% score on the test is 45 in two minutes. I did 48.

I'm still pushing for being able to do 100 pushups consecutively without stopping, but I'm glad to know I can nail that category, at least. I also need to get out with the bike to do my 6.5 in 24 minutes. Yesterday I went back to Week 6, Day 2 of the hundred pushups workout. This was 22, 22, 30, 30, 24, 24, 18, 18, and 'as many as you can' with a minimum of 58 to move to the next day. By the time I reached the second set of 24 I was sweating badly enough that my shirt stuck to my back, and when I got to that last set there was sweat in my eyes and splattering all over the place, so I got as far as thirty and said 'you know what, I just got back into this- might as well stop here and pick it up again on Friday'. Still, I'm getting there.

Also working on the two hundred squats workout. Yesterday I did 65 before deciding it was time to stop. Mind, I'd just finished the pushups, and when I do squats I raise my arms in front of me as I go down, so the arm fatigue was part of that. Still, it's not too bad; I'll go back to that workout too.

Also, unrelated to exercise, my order of supplies from New England Cheesemaking Company came in yesterday- roughly enough supplies to make seven or eight cheeses. I'm going to try a different recipe this time, once I get to a farmer's market for some decent milk. Something that doesn't require aging, so I don't have to fend off the cats. If I do anything involving aging it might be ricotta insalata but that's still a ways off. We'll see.

(And, yes, I sleep with a crowbar next to the bed and a roll of duct tape on hand just in case. You never know what you're going to need to be able to do at a moment's notice.)

Slightly odd question, where do you find the listing for all of this?

I knew someone in New Zealand who did his exercise according to I think a Canadian army thing and I went looking and never found it.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do all of it but it seems like a possibly good way to organize and create goals.

Thank you. I'll save these for when I have more time.

Whoa wait.

What?

Where did the reference to the crowbar and duct tape come from? Not that I'm surprised at ALL, but it was a left field sort of thing.

A plan with merit, of course.

*shushes self and does not try and convince you that gaff tape is better*
