Feb. 19th, 2011 11:53 amThe cats let me sleep until 8:30 this morning before going into 'um, you are going to feed us, right, Mom?' mode. I'm kind of impressed. Normally I can count on them to turn up sometime around 7.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with today, although I probably should get my stuff together and head to Starbucks to do some writing work. I do know that sometime this afternoon I've got to repeat Week 6, Day 1, and that I need to do situps as well. Given that it's currently Shark Week for me I'm inclined to be a little bit lazier than usual, but my family philosophy has always been that exercise wards off cramps. (It's not always true, you understand. Last year had a particularly nasty, as in 'Please God don't let that be a kidney stone I feel', case crop up when I was on mile 8 or 9 or so of a 13-mile bike ride. I got home by riding the bike a few miles to a light rail station and taking the train back anyway, but still.) I am pleased to report that yesterday I actually used a stopwatch when I was on the stairs and can verify that I did basement to 45 in 12 minutes, 6 seconds. Given that basement to 1 and 1 to 2 are both 1.5 floors each because those floors have higher ceilings than normal, and that there's an entire un-numbered floor between 11 and 12, that basically means 48 or so floors in that time despite a pronounced need for Midol. At that speed, assuming I could keep it up for 66 floors... that'd come out around 17 min. 45 seconds for the Rock Center building, more likely 18 minutes because of the rest stops. That would be great, if I can pull that off at the end of the month. We'll see.
Anyway. More later. I'm gonna go see if I can motivate my butt out of the house today.
