Sep. 14th, 2010 08:15 amWell, I'm awake.
I got a Feliway diffuser last night at the veterinarian's suggestion, since it's supposed to ease stress in cats and one of the major contributing factors to urinary issues for cats is stress. For those of you going 'what the hell does a housecat have to stress about', I humbly submit that if you had a roommate move out, then a month later suddenly found yourself saddled with a total stranger out of the blue who insisted on eating your food and using your toilet, and never going away, you'd be kinda stressed too. I don't know if it's the Feliway or if the prescriptions are working extra well or what, but Shula spent most of yesterday chasing catnip mice or chasing Kamella around the apartment. Kamella was only too happy to play with toys and run around on her own, too, so I think the Feliway may be the major behavioral factor here.
Waiting on the insurance claim to go through. Will begin refunding folks after that. Also I need to go to the vet's this afternoon and bring them cookies, then get the prescriptions refilled. We're running out of amoxicillin and if there's one thing I remember from the days when I thought I'd go into medicine it's that you do not end an antibiotic prescription before the doctor says it's time to end it. It inevitably ends with the bacteria going MUA HA HAHA HA YOU FAILED TO KILL ME AND NOW I AM RESISTANT AND STRONGER. So I need to find out if we need this RX refilled or not. Hopefully it won't be an issue much longer. Shula's been using the litterbox much more normally, thank goodness.
Meanwhile, last night I downloaded and watched the E3 trailer for Fallout New Vegas. More specifically, I watched it four times. Pretty. I do not want to hear anything else about the game, though. I've been going out of my way to avoid picking up on plot info or spoilers beyond "it opens with you waking up in a shallow grave, with no clear memory of how you got there, and you are being dug out by one freaky-looking robot'. I bought the strategy guide for FO3 along with the game and wound up reading non-main-plot sections of the guide long before I got home and started playing. I don't want to repeat that- I want to be surprised. This should be good...
Anyway. Got work to do. Back later.
