Random filling things in
Jul. 5th, 2010 06:55 amOkay, so.
Took a bit of a hiatus for personal reasons- stress, mostly- but I'm back. (For now, anyway. I'm not sure why I'm awake at the moment, given that I have the day off. I may go back to bed shortly.) I'm feeling much more relaxed, I'm studying for Cisco and plan to take the test before the end of the month, and I've paid for a vacation cycling weekend in the Berkshires in September. I'm looking at the possibility of going up to MA a little early to go to Boston and then bip out to Newburyport/Ipswitch on the grounds of OH MY GOD FISHPEOPLE YAY FISHPEOPLE. (Trans.: they're the real towns mentioned as being near the titular location in The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but they're supposed to be lovely to bike in and they're on the MBTA commuter rail line.) I'll deal with my finances as I go along, save money and pay off debt where I can, etc.
I was going to take the bike into the city today and practice riding hills in Central Park. However, the forecast calls for 98 degrees F or higher and as much as I love my Camelbak hydration backpack I don't really want to melt. I'm also feeling a little crampy, and while that's not nearly anywhere close to incapacitating, it's still there. I may just take today and sack out, do easy things, study a little, stuff like that. Don't know.
My cat has been shedding like nobody's business for the longest time. I finally got someone to teach me how best to brush and comb him so he likes it instead of trying to get away. This is good, because once I've got him to the vet for his shots, I'm going to Bide-a-Wee to get another cat, and I'd like to be able to give Shula some special attention to keep him distracted from the newcomer once it all goes down.
I hope all is well with all of you lovely people out there and I look forward to resuming contact!

I think you can still see the glass flowers at the Peabody Museum.
