I love my family, and I love my parents, and I love my mother, but sometimes I wish they'd gotten bored in July or September instead of August.

(Translation: I'm being whiny about the fact that, as happens far too often, I shared my birthday with Mother's Day this year. It is a stupid and self-centric thing but it would be rather nice not to have to share the party once in a while. Even in years when the two dates are not the same, the events are usually collapsed together because it's just simpler that way.)

I know how you feel - I sometimes share my birthday with Mother's Day too (although not this year, fortunately). But in my family we tend to celebrate birthdays a bit late anyway, so even when the dates match up it generally works out?

I'm another Mother's Day baby (was born on the day, in fact), and I think it's because I was born on Mother's Day itself that I don't mind the juxtaposition so much. For me, it's like a bonus year when the two days are the same. But I can see how it would be annoying to have the events collapsed together mostly for the same of simplicity -- that's really not cool.

That said, happy birthday to you. ^_^

(And my parents' wedding anniversary is in mid-September...so unfortunately I know exactly when things got going. Yeesh.)

I feel your pain. I'm four days after Christmas - school's out and everyone's driving home from Christmas that day, so I never got to have a party on my birthday.

*raises hand* Two weeks before Thanksgiving. Nobody loves me. No, really. They do - and they sail right over me heading for the turkey. That, and recovering from Halloween. Take your pick.

I was supposed to be born on Christmas Eve. Thankfully I was 2 weeks early -- it's JUST ENOUGH of a stretch that we can keep it separate.

Not only did my mother's birthday fall on Mother's Day this year, but my father's will fall on Father's Day next month. And mine is on Valentine's Day.

I know the feeling. My birthday manages to land on or near mothers day every year too. My Fiancee has it about as bad, hers lands near thanksgiving.

I share my birthday with my grandfather, and he insists on celebrating on the very day (it happens to be a holiday over here, so there are no weekend issues to consider) EVERY. BLOODY. YEAR.

So I definitely feel your pain.

Happy belated birthday anyway?
