I'm allowed to lift the insignia and change the geographic location of a particular MP brigade from the real world if I'm writing something for the Fallout universe, right? I won't catch flak for saying that a unit that hasn't existed in our world since 1976, and that used to be stationed in Germany, happens to be in charge of area security for top secret research facilities where horrible things happen in California in 2077?

Don't see any reason why not, as I'm quite sure the division between our reality and Fallout's was well before 1950.

Maybe it was reformed in a burst of century-later nostalgia in 2076? Or maybe earlier, if the brigade got into some historically noteworthy engagement at some point in its history?
