I have a new favorite profession, at least from the sound of the title: "Wood Technology Scientist".

It's a real profession that involves doctorates from accredited major universities with physical campuses and stuff, and it mostly has to do with the analysis and properties of wood in its various uses in construction and what have you, but it just sounds so steampunk. "I? I am Doctor Phlegethon, wood technology scientist!"

In other news, the trial continues, and I am getting to the point of wanting to stand up and scream "SO WHAT SO WHAT SO WHAT SO WHAT?". But I haven't done that since I was five, so I probably can't get away with it now.

Is it at least of criminal trial, or are you dealing with the idiocy of a civil trial? The last jury I had to sit on was a personal injury case, and the shining example of human stupidity and greed that was the plaintiff just made me want to scream.

Civil trial. The only way I'm getting through this is by telling myself that if I weren't here, someone who would get dinned vacation days or actual work pay for their jury time by their employers would probably be stuck in my seat, so if nothing else I'm sparing someone that problem.

There's also weed science! I considered it seriously as an area of study, because weeds are fascinating. But it's less steampunky than the wood technology scientist, it's true.
