Dec. 9th, 2009 12:37 pmGot a few vacation days left this year. Burning them as I can, which is not easy, as we have an office move and other things that require me in the building. Today, however, is a day off. I am currently watching my cats sit in the window and watch the rest of the world. Eventually, there will be laundry.
Yesterday I did basement to 44 in my building. No circling or other horizontal delaying tactics before that, except for walking slower than usual on the short hallway between floor 27 and 28. (By 'short' I mean 'half again the usual length of a standard landing'. I timed myself for the whole thing and have found that I average around three minutes for ten floors. Walking down is not appreciably faster than walking up; it was 11 minutes from 44 down to basement. Am going to have to start using the 'go up, leave on available exit floor, take elevator down a bit' strategy soon. Once I can walk the equivalent of 66 floors I will get you guys the links to the MS Society pledge page for this event, if you're interested.
For now I'm going to see what else I can do in the way of Christmas shopping online. Need to buy for my sister and my mom. Dad's largely taken care of, niece and nephew are mostly handled, and brother-in-law can be purchased for at a brick-and-mortar store.
