Sep. 14th, 2009 07:25 amH'okay. Up, at work, etc. Been here since 7:15. Am making a practice of emailing everyone in the office to let them know I'm in, mostly 'cos we've got a few people who occasionally work from home and I like them to know there's someone on duty. Also to remind my bosses that I'm up and at it nice and early.
For some reason I'm a bit sweaty and overheated. I woke up this morning with itchy eyes and drip down the back of my throat, so I took a non-drowsifying allergy med. Proceeded to walk to the bus stop as quickly as I could, thinking I'd be late otherwise. I don't think it's warm enough in Hoboken to justify feeling overheated with a light cardigan over a sleeveless shell... we'll see how long this condition lasts now that I'm at work and sitting down. If it's still like this later I may have to give up entirely on the allergy caplets. I don't much care for weird side effects.
Meanwhile, I have discovered that it's oddly easier to get to writing certain fic-style rp bits when I'm parked at a Starbucks. I did two more Rise of the Fallen entries in
tangled_metal yesterday. Hopefully I can keep it up, because we're really close to the Fighty Tiems Nao part of our programme. I may need to start bringing my laptop to work, now that I'm a) riding the bus and b) working 7:30 to 4:30. If I can park myself in a Starbucks for a bit after hours and get a little writing in, that can partially compensate for the fact that work is remarkably zooey these days... well, maybe; one can hope. In the meantime I like to think I got Sam's voice reasonably close to correct, and that the new roommate I gave him instead of the guy from the movie will do the job nicely.
Uff da. I realize there hasn't been much in the way of good content lately here in my journal. You have my apologies for that. I'll try to improve.
