My question is to you. How in the name of God do you manage to play all those people and not get stressed out by bitchery and frustration? Dear God, what a chore it must be! I play four, and that's enough and too many.

To Ray Stantz: How did you meet Peter Venkmann and Egon Spengler?

I play them to varying degrees. Whistler's rather quiet in my head these days, as he's very happy with his situation (post-movie, plus attractive fiancee from the future that he met via Milliways). Belar I mostly play for crack RP or when the Bar needs heavy-hitter security- when Unicron makes a stink, it's not as if they can send a human to bring him in. It's mostly a matter of different amounts of time going to different pups. As for the ones on the bottom Calyn is the only one who gets a lot of play time; the others are quiet but persistent and may get popped up at places now and again, just not all that often.

Ray: Well, I met Egon first, sort of. Not in person, you understand. When I was a kid my parents* were worried about the fact that I didn't seem to be able to keep friends for very long- I've never been exactly the best at reading other people's signals, so to speak- so they signed me up for a pen-pal service. Send fourteen letters to people whose names and interests you get on a list, and your name is distributed to fourteen others who signed up. Theoretically everyone gets twenty-eight pen pals out of the deal, but the only person who wrote back more than once or twice was an eleven-year-old kid named Egon Spengler. We stayed pen pals for years, but I don't think I actually met him in person until I started looking at colleges, when I was fourteen. As for Peter, he was in my introductory engineering class at Columbia. He claimed he signed up for it because he thought it was about trains, but I'm pretty sure he was just trying to make a girl laugh when he said that.

*The Ray I play is from the 2003 comic book miniseries Ghostbusters: Legion, which was a time-jumped setting. The Gozer crisis had happened in October of 2003 in that world and the comic took place six months later, with no sign of the Ghostbusters being shut down by lawsuits. Also, I intensely disliked the Real Ghostbusters episode "Look Homeward, Ray" and so feel no need to use its information to account for Ray's personal history or background.

Bumblebee: What type(s) of music do you prefer, and why?

Bumblebee's answer involves three-second snippets of recorded music in about eight different languages, including English, Cantonese, and what may possibly be Bengali. The general thrust of it seems to be that it's difficult to choose any particular favorite when you haven't heard absolutely all of it yet, and he's still busy ranking everything he hears- it's an extremely fluid rank system and his preferences change from day to day.

He does like Anita Mui quite a lot, though.

To Ray: What's Egon's most annoying habit, and why do you put up with it?

Spengs has a habit of diving into a line of thought (whether it's an everyday conversation or a scientific discussion), processing the information silently, proceeding through several other thoughts, and coming out the other side with his next sentence without having told you what he was thinking or how he got there. I can handle that normally, but the smirk he tends to give when people can't actually follow his particular path of thought is really annoying. I put up with it because I can track the same way about half the time, and even if I can't the results are usually pretty worthwhile, but it still gets up my nose at times.

Ellen, ever think about not going back? I mean, staying in M'ways, and leaving that godforsaken planet behind? (Also, I'm desperately curious to know how she'd react if she learned people popped into her world to run around and slay mutants for recreational purposes?)

Ray: Well, once, but all things considered I'd probably have to get Timely Comics to publish it, since I doubt any of the standard publishing houses would be willing to touch some of the stuff in there.

Ellen: ... that's even possible?... but no. Milliways is just... it's transitory, you know? It's a place you go to while you're on your way to somewhere else. Living there would be like living in the hallway. Sooner or later you have to admit that it's not where you're supposed to be. And moving to another world instead is just... why did we bother to struggle through two hundred years of surviving in the Vault if we were just going to say 'this stinks' and run away once the door opened? (As far as how she'd react to the other thing, she's been through the Operation Anchorage computer sim; she finds the prospect of killin' for entertainment rather disturbing, even though the sim was kind of exciting at the time. If you refer to people from Bar coming to her world for recreation, well, at least they're making things safer for her people, and they can worry about their own mental health.)

A fine und intriguing woman pursuing a difficult path to regain ze ground she lost in her... hmm... involuntary career detour. I can sink of far, far worse individuals mit whom I could spend my time. (Und chust as soon as ze management accepts zat I'm not going to be able to clone Herr Engineer back to life mit full memory from two kidney cross-sections und half an ear-hole, I shouldn't mind pursuing a little more time with her. Until zen, alas, ze job comes first.)

Doctor Freeman? Given everything that's happened, would you return to research on teleportation given the chance, switch fields or focus, or take up another profession?

Given how much of what's happened only happened because somebody screwed around with it to subvert it for his own ends? I'd go back to the teleportation research. Now that we know it works, and what it's capable of, it's time I really got the chance to understand what's involved.

Okay, Gordon, you asked me, so fair's fair: If it were completely up to you, what would you want to do after the Combine are taken care of?

I want to sit down with whoever the leading surviving scientists and engineers are, as long as they're not named Magnusson, and get myself up to speed on the state of whatever science and technology we've got left. And then I want to get back into research, because now that we've seen what that kind of physics can actually do, we need to understand as much as we can about it and all its permutations and ramifications- before someone mucks with it and screws everything up again. Even if it's just for the sake of whatever family I might wind up having, and wanting to ensure that they've got a better world to live in.

Ellen: What's your favorite thing about not being in the Vault anymore?

I think it's the way that there's so many new people. There were always the same faces and personalities to deal with in the Vault, and if you didn't like someone you really didn't have any way of escaping from them. Out here, there's the chance to get away from the people who bother you, or talk to people you've never met before, or... all kinds of things, because you don't have to stay where you are, and neither do they.

I'm not sure I'm making that much sense.
