My co-worker told me this morning that the co-op board denied his application to sublet the apartment. Bleah. Looks like it's time for me to find another apartment in less than a week... well, okay, I have a little more time than that, but not much. Wish me luck, folken.

It's a 960-unit complex. The fate of one apartment that someone already owns and just wants to sublet is not really a big thing to them, I suppose.

Co-worker of mine's aunt moved out of her co-op at the end of last year. I expressed an interest in renting the apartment from the co-worker, and he said okay, he'd apply to be allowed to sublet the apartment. Co-op board only just got back to him on the negatory now.

Funnily enough this is almost how fast it happened when I moved into my apartment in the first place. I'd been idly looking over apartments with intent to move out eventually, when my sister's doctors announced that they were likely to induce labor within two weeks- and since she and her husband's new house wasn't done yet they'd be living with my parents until it was ready to move into. Since they'd be moving into the room next to mine at the time, that meant I had to get a place before the doctors broke out the Pitocin.

Much obliged, hon. On the bright side I should be having a look at the first alternative apartment this evening. $1350/mo., one bedroom, Hoboken, second floor. 3rd and Jefferson. Allows pets, hot water included in the rent.

Not furnished, though, so if I move there I'm taking the couch with me. Sorry.
