Nov. 24th, 2008 09:50 amWell, I'm awake. And at work. And trying to get stuff done before Wednesday- some of it before two PM today, which is our weekly IT department status meeting. The company that handles our fax service gave me a number to send our 'give us a new line' request to that isn't picking up when I try to fax them, and I've still got to make arrangements with the cable company and the email people before the start of December, and... yeah. Going to get as much as I can done before 5 PM today.
At home, things are all right. Family Thanksgiving went okay on Saturday, although the odd moment came when a cousin of mine asked for the recipe for my lemon bars specifically because she'd befriended an Amish woman and realized she had no actual viable skills that the Amish woman could respect, but she knew the Amish woman liked lemon, so if she could just figure out how to prepare the lemon bars (she's not much of a cook) she'd at least have something to show her. Low-tech skills r0x0r. Sunday was mostly spent playing Fallout 3. Will be blogging that later, once work has actually been dealt with. Also started replaying Half-Life 2 Episode 1, so I've got that to write up, too.
My cats have been extremely affectionate boys since I got back from vacation. I don't think I've spent more than about fifteen seconds at the computer without something warm and furry trying to get into my lap. I also keep waking up with both cats on the bed, which is unusual- Shula doesn't normally do that, but he's been all 'pet me, hold me, snuggle me' since I got back. Normally he's mostly like that with strangers and only hops into my lap once in a great long while. I'm not objecting, I'm just worried that something might be wrong with the food I'm giving them and they need an extra heat source or something. Tiki's always been a very affectionate fellow, but you don't normally see a cat like Shula going from 'yes, whatever' to 'LAP TIME NOW' every twenty minutes.
I desperately need to clean up the apartment.
Anyway, that's the current state of affairs. More later, perhaps. Maybe the Camwyn Stinks at Videogames blogging if I have the time.
