I attempted to use my building ID card to get on the PATH train this morning. I have a feeling this is going to set the tone for the rest of the day.

In other news, I started playing Prince of Persia: Sands of Time last night, largely because I couldn't find Bioshock. I think next time I'll start on Bioshock, and then start on Stranglehold, just to get a feel for all three games. Prince of Persia is fun so far, though. The Prince (I've named mine Darius, as I didn't have my Shah-Namah with me to select names from) is such a frickin' ninja. And, yes, both the Maharajah and the king of... wherever it is that Darius and his father were visiting... clearly hired the direct-line ancestors of whoever built the Wayne family manor over a cave complex big enough to hide an entire community of mole people. It's lovely.

What's really insane is the defense system. You'll see.

Here's my question. Is the palace's vast size the result of the Sands or the progress of centuries of building and expanding?

Or Tony Stark and a Time Machine. You know he's got plans for one somewhere.

Oooh, good point.

Random thought. You could probably throw a Hetrodyne in there. More than one has gone missing.

If you don't know what a Hetrodyne is then get thee to http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/ posthaste!

I'm just waiting for you to get to certain hallways. The narration-at-death ("that's... not what happened") is very clever, as well.

I like that game. It's fun, and the ending is pretty clever. I'm playing the second one right now, and dying lots; it's a lot more frustrating in design. Watch out for the birds; getting the timing right to hit them is tricky, especially on some of the later stages.

I'm giggling because when I roleplayed the Prince on DM all of those years ago, I decided that he was the historic Darius II, a Persian king who, it was said, travelled extensively and had many adventures before he ascended the throne.

Ooooh I played the really, really old original version of that game! It was hard, yo. And that's not even considering the fact that, well. To make sure the game was relatively unstealable, they made it so the occasional tests you had to do to go up a level required the manual. "Please enter the third word of the second line of the fourth paragraph on page twenty" sort of thing. But they didn't print the manual properly, so almost all of the answers were wrong. >_

Some friends of ours gave us a copy of the game and a photocopied version of the manual. Only there was a page missing, and that always seemed to be the one we needed to get to the next level...
