Mar. 14th, 2008 02:41 amI just registered for the Five Boro Tour, on May 4th, and the Ride to Montauk, on June 21st. The Five Boro is thirty-nine miles of route, then three miles to the ferry home. The Ride to Montauk is a hundred miles, starting in Babylon, NY and going to, well, Montauk. That's eighty miles in a straight line, but it's coast-hugging, so it picks up the extra twentyish that way. The ride's pretty flat, but the last four or so miles before Montauk go through Hither Hills State Park.
This should get interesting. Time to start breaking the bike out in earnest again.
Oh, and I bought one of the commemorative jerseys for the Ride to Montauk. They're here: http://www.nycbicycleshow.com/Montauk%2008/Jerseys,%20T-shirts,%20%26%20Socks.html - I specifically bought the black one. WE RIDE FOR PIE.
