Lord help me, I just got complimented on my earrings and necklace as a set in a totally non-ironic way.

I feel it is necessary to say this because the earrings are a pair of blue marbleized percentile dice hanging from wires and the necklace is a sparkly blue crystalline d20 in a silver cage.

I don't think the complimenter is a gamer. I'm not even sure she realized that they're dice.

If the vendor had had business cards I would've grabbed one. As it stands, the d20 necklace is one I bought from thinkgeek.com.

If you have a jewelry supply store anywhere near you, you could probably make the necklace with the greatest of ease, since the d20 is suspended inside a simple coil-shaped cage kind of thing. The percentiles had holes drilled in them near the top to run the wires through, though.

I think I may have to, now. I have D6 earrings, so they'd go nicely if I can't find percentile beads.

She had a neat set of D6 earrings- clusters of three miniature d6 per earring, drilled through from corner to corner, hanging on chains.

(Side note: I kind of want to send Bumblebee in Francesca's direction. Gender politics? Wah?)

You'd be surprised! I don't think I give off a gamer vibe in my everyday life, but if I saw someone wearing a dice necklace and earrings I'd squee over them too.

(Tangentially - I've been trying to find/make a necklace of a d20 without the numbers on. I just want a pendant in that shape. Any ideas of how one gets a die before they stamp the numbers on?)
