Much as I'd like to rage and froth here... sometimes you gotta applaud the little steps in the right direction and let it go at that if you ever want to see the right thing done right.

I'm not sure it's much of a step, even a little one. King Abdullah made it known that he was exercising his right to clemency "for the good of the nation," but he also said he supported the sentence passed down by the courts.

I know. But given how rampant anti-Western sentiment runs at the moment,and how easy it would be to thumb the country's nose at the West and keep right on going because OIL, this was probably the best anybody could hope for. And I'm grateful for that much.

To us this seems like a minuscule step, but for this to have actually happened there? It's huge. Seriously.
