Hm. This looks like interesting to me:

Step #1: Put your iTunes (or other player) on the "Shuffle" setting.

Step #2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.

Step #3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Please don't use Google or any other way to CHEAT, for this spoils the fun for others who actually KNOW the answer.

Step #4: Check off the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I always do these as 'A line from the song' rather than 'The First line from the song. More challenging (and I don't have to think to write the post).

Okay...

The one's I know...

OHMYGOD #3 IS THAT BAHA MEN TRACK FROM THE SHREK SOUNDTRACK. My shame. I can't tell you the name of it, but I can sing you the whole first verse? Does that count?

#7 is from Prince of Egypt - the song they're singing at the beginning that segues into Yocheved's lullabye. WHY DON'T I OWN THIS MOVIE ON DVD.

#10 is - well, it's either a trad version of 'The Night That Paddy Murphy Died', or, more likely, the Great Big Sea version, 'The Night Pat Murphy Died'.

#18 is Uncle Kracker, 'Follow Me'.

The four I had that I am now scouring the Internets for are

Snoopy vs the Red Baron
The Return of the Red Baron
Snoopy's Christmas
Smallest Astronaut

One album, Anthology, seems to have all four in mono. But the album's not in print. And the songs aren't at iTunes.

I was in HS, too - and only ever saw a couple - the one for "Taken In" was brilliant. I should look online for them.. and buy some CDs soon since I haven't listened to my tapes in forever...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane - and the interesting LJ.

And So It Goes...if you have never heard the (A capella) version done by the 2004 International Championship Quartet BRAVA!, tell me and I will figure out how to send it to you. It's breathtaking.
