Persistent mondegreen that will not go away for me no matter how well I know the real lyrics and how many times I stare at them on screen while the song plays:

"It's my life / My heart is like an open highway / Like Frankenstein, I did it my way"

Frankly, I think that's more entertaining than the original Bon Jovi lyric ("Like Frankie said, I did it my way"). But then again I remain convinced that the Bon Jovi song "Runaway" works better if you assume that the title character didn't wind up in a life of prostitution, but in fact 'works the night away' as a self-taught ninja hoping to win her absentee father's approbation for her m4d l33t sk1llz.

That being said, I'm going to take a cue from sdelmonte and ms_ntropy. I've got some people I need to tag and be tagged by at milliways_bar as part of the Car Keys tagswapping thing we've arranged. If your pup is on this list, do contact me about timing and arrangements, won't you? Thanks.

Entrance post. Those are all characters at the Milliways Bar RPG. You've got to make one of these posts and other people tag it to interact with your character, but you're also supposed to tag other people's posts because people who just sit there and expect everyone else to come to their fantabulous character of wonderfulness are not really contributing to the game.

Oh, I've done it often enough myself that I really shoudln't talk. Besides, Mel is a fantabulous character of wonderfulness who should get tagged more often. People need to interact with the funky Slayer OF THE FUTURE!!!.

I think most of it's my current status as a part time roleplayed. If I EP and post, I'll get overthreaded, and I don't check and check for current posts - I just dump someone in during the empty day and wander off.

Yeah, I can understand that. Hey, question for you: the next time you randomly dump someone in, would it be okay if I threw somebody at them? When people I've known for a while put posts up, I get a little nervous that I've been playing with them so long that they might want to widen their RP gene pool and not always have to play with me.

I don't know why it keeps slipping my mind that you play Karolina Dean, though. POssibly it's that I don't know Runaways from anywhere other than the pups in-Bar, so I don't know her well enough to recall aright.

Oh. Comics. Well, forget that, Marvel - especially the less-known heros - are very hard to find over here. But Wikipedia is good. I think Marvel is actually missing a beat by not putting e.g. two-year old comics up online, where you would pay a fee for a password to read them or something.
Off to bed. FINALLY finished the report. I *love* the story of having to verify that you are real to Wellington's officers in order to be paid... (see my last Journal entry).

I'm wondering whether I should pay a visit to Milliway's? Might be something to do when in China, after I've read all the books I'm bringing with me ...

Right. Calculus should cause you no problems whatsoever. It's basically keeping track of where the numbers are going, and what is influencing what (when x changes, y changes...). And it's actually predictable, which I *bet* your characters are not. Where's Sgt Preston?

As much as I love the good Sergeant, I don't play him at Milliways, which is my primary RP source these days. I tried a different Mountie character there for a while, from the old pulp magazines- ninja_mountie- and he turned out not to work all that well outside of his environment. Preston would be more of the same. He really does need to be in Canada, or possibly parts of Alaska, in order to come out right. Or at least officially representing Canada, which he can't really do in a multiversal bar at the end of the universe.

No, that was a genuine coincidence, much like Chur and Puss in Boots. I made the selections by putting all the character names in column A of a spreadsheet, the mun names in column B, and an integer between 1 and 209 chosen by the RANDBETWEEN function in column C, then added a second copy of all three columns, then ordered the sheet to sort things out by the RANDBETWEEN numbers. My spreadsheet is to blame, not me. *innocentfaces*
