Bought Deathly Hallows from shop in PATH station at around 5:15, 5:20. Started reading at the PATH station. Continued reading all the way home. Had to stop for walk from train station to home, also feeding of cats, talking to Mom on phone.

Finished reading at 8:24 PM.

Calculations come out roughly to 1 pg. every 15 seconds.

is good book.

I should eat now.

Yeeeah, I was sort of laughing at that myself. Now if I can just muster enough disgust with the world to go back and reread Hellblazer for a while...

That's part of why I put it aside, you see. It's hard to write John properly when you aren't disgusted with the entirety of the human species.

Yeah, well, my record is 2 hours, 38 minutes for a 937-page Anna Karenina in college, but with AK I skimmed a fair chunk. On the other hand I still managed to get an A+ on the final exam the next day, which required an essay comparing and contrasting Anna with Emma Bovary. The Potter book was a read-through with proper comprehension, though, no section-skimming.

With the possibility of being lynched here by all the Potter fans, I have to say that while PARTS of this book I liked very much. I also felt that she needed a damned editor. It was very slow at times and the pacing was way off. As a result, I didn't enjoy the book as much as I could have.
