Haven't heard from the techs. OTOH, temperature is below critical threshold and has been below for several minutes now.

Monitoring for five more minutes, and then I am imitating my cats and sleeping as sprawled out on the couch as I can.

ETA: 4:17 AM. Phone rings. HVAC technician.

Front desk won't let him in.

his company never gave him the access card and company key that we specifically gave them to let him in.

Thankfully, no. I told the technician to try calling the building engineer on duty, but he wasn't able to raise them on the horn, so I then asked him to hand the phone to the person behind the front desk, who I promptly set on fire with the power of my verbal wrath, at which point the HVAC tech got a security guard to walk him into our office space.
