Awake again. The stuff in my head has gone liquid and is inducing coughing,a s it is dripping down the back of my throat. I suppose this is better than agonizing pressure, like I had yesterday.

My temperature seems to be oscillating, although I can't tell for certain as yesterday all I managed to do was get home from the office and feed the cats,r ather than get a thermometer. I sweated a lot last night, in fits and starts.

As soon as I get my act together this morning I'm going in to work. I'm not quite miserable enough to stay home, and I think I can concentrate more today than I was able to yesterday.

The cats have been very sweet about all of this. Tiki, at least, has been jumping up next to me to purr for a while every so often.

Periods of sleep achieved since arriving home yesterday: 6 PM-3 AM, 3:45 AM-7:30 AM.

You have a cat named Tiki? Did I know that before? The first cat I ever knew when I was very little, mother of all other cats in my little-kid world, was Tiki. She was a tri-color, with very defined patches of black, orange and white.

This one's a boy. My sister named her two cats after football figures: Tiki Barbour (Barber? I forget), the player, and Don Shula, the coach. I wound up adopting them when her son showed signs of cat allergy. Turned out to be new-building-chemical sensitivity instead, but I've still got the cats. Tiki's a grey tabby, Shula is white and orange.

Funny - I never imagined Tiki as a person's name. I identify it too much with those statues that the cat was named after.

I hate that "sleep in bits" thing when I'm sick. It's probably slightly better than the "up for one down for three" that I had with my wisdom teeth, or the "you have 30 seconds before I shut down" moments after this year's surgery, but none of them are actually pleasant.

Yeah, no kidding. "MUST SLEEP, MUST SLEEP NAO" followed by "Hey, I almost feel well!" followed by "sucker, LIE DOWN"... yech.

Resulting in the "DAMMIT HYPOTHALAMUS MAKE UP YOUR MIND!" feeling.

At which point it usually DOES and I end up comatose for twelve hours.

You know you made me research Buckley's with your last post. Excerpt from "The Story of Buckley's"

"The one problem Dad found was Buckley's unique taste. Dad described it as "brisk," but to be real honest, it tastes real bad."

And one woman wrote that she liked it because she knew when her kids were really sick, and not just wanting a day off of school. If they want to stay home, they have to take a dose of Buckley's. She said they often go to school instead.

Well, I work at the end of the office unless I have to do something at a user's desk, so generally I'm not exposing too many people if I come in these days. I warn everyone off, though. It's only fair.

I'm not really surprised about the test of whether they're truly sick or not. This stuff is the true terror of Canada.

Sick!Camwyn simply won't do. And, gods above, a varying temp is always awful. Hope you feel better soon. =(
