Going to the knitting store at lunchtime. This is the second time I've lost track of one of my size 0 needles. I'm sure the damn thing is probably on my desk at home or something, but I found out yesterday that size 0 needles are remarkably skilled at slipping through the fabric of the tote bag I use as a purse, and I'd rather not lose any more. I'm going to get two size 0 circulars and knit the Socks of Rassilon on those.

Also I shall get some point protectors to avoid bag puncturing.

Get extra long (32" minumum) circs and do Magic Loop.

Not a size 0 circ in sight, alas, so I bought another package with size 0 in it and will be keeping all the nedles in the back whenever not in use.

That's why, after losing one JUST ONCE, I resort to buying pairs of packages of DPN's--and carry the spares in my knitting bag in a sensible container. Well, actually, it's a cigar tube I pinched off a friend, but it's still a sensible DPN wrangler.

As for point protectors, someone once suggested pencil-cap erasers to me, but they won't work on US 0 (obviously). If I were going ghettotech in that regard, maybe some heat-shrink and/or aquarium tubing.

Mind, I know you're already off to the knitting store by now, I'm just rambling. 8-)

Right now I've got all the unused needles I bought today in the original Sock Needle Kit packaging. I shall probably stop at Duane Reade on the way home tonight and buy something a little solider for keeping them in. I've also acquired a few point protectors that claim to go down to size 0, but I'm using them on the needles that already have the sock- and jamming two needles into one protector.
