Memo to self:

When the doctor tells you that you need to lower your blood pressure, and you find some time later that you have done so, do not celebrate this fact with salty and fatty foods. Also, do not take headaches lightly, even if you are sure they're to do with the changing weather outside. And sleep more; there are scientific studies showing that people who don't get enough sleep have significantly elevated blood pressure levels. Plus, cut back ont he caffeine. No matter how much it helps you work, it does awful things toyour blood pressure.

When your boss says he's concerned about your health because you're sick pretty regularly, and sends you home to work at home because of a migraine that drives you to nausea, this is probably a good sign that you are not taking adequate care of yourself by any definition of the word. So start taking care of yourself. I don't care how far you can go on the bike. That doesn't mean anything. If you're not sleeping enough, and you're working from home too often because you're ill for any reason other than a really bad hormone cycle, it's something you can take care of by looking after yourself better.

(Although I am due for another gyno appointment. I should talk to them then, on top of the other stuff.)

PS- James Fixx, Mr. Multiple Marathons, died of cheeseburger-induced heart disease. Your grandfather keeps getting hospitalized for congestive heart failure. What does this suggest to you about your diet, your exercise, and your utter lack of genuinely taking care of yourself food-wise?

[completely random personal observation that may have nothing to do with your situation] When I started taking a daily vitamin (because I'm lactose intolerant and need to get calcium) last year, my migraine frequency dropped. I mentioned it to my doctor, and she speculated that it was B vitamins.

Mind you, the wonky weather this spring plus my allergies have bumped my migraines back up for now...

I can feel smug because when my heart explodes it won't explode due to exercise, right? Ri...?

Aw dang.

Just transfer your consciousness into a vastly superior robot body.

And then write a robot body review so I will eventually know which model to choose.

....Dead is bad mmkay?

Actually, I read somewhere that like, more people had died of heart-thingies while excercising then like, fat people but yes, taking care of yourself is key, somethin' we could all stand to do.

*BIG HUGS* please dun be dead man. That'd suck.

I don't disagree with anyone above, but the real reason you don't want to die is that all of us Milliwaysers would come to your grave and raise you up for more Plotting.

And Mways being Mways, this potentially, satisfyingly horror-filled event would just inevitably turn to the purest crack.

Which would be amusing for us but probably somewhat mortifying for you.

So...best to stay alive, yes?
