1. Kinda wish I knew more about your WoD pup, as one or two sound like naturals to compare with you.

2. What about Belar and Mouse? I have to say, I see a lot of Belar in you (though not the god stuff).

3. Toss- up between Sergeant Preston and Ray. The former is Canadian, the latter a geek, and if you split the difference...

Ho was the son of a pair of Chinese immigrants to San Francisco. His dad owned a couple of restaurants, and his mom was an accountant. Both of them were Protestants. Dad was more than a little irritated with Ho when he expressed an interest in going into Japanese cooking instead of inheriting Dad's businesses- Ho's older brother would've been the one to inherit if he hadn't gone to law school instead and wound up a Federal judge. Ho didn't truly cheese off his dad until he told the family he was pursuing Buddhism instead of getting baptized, though. He got his Magely Awakening when he was at the Buddhist seminary, although he later decided that he didn't really want to be a monk after all. He wound up signing onto an Etherist starship as the ship's cook, and it was just his luck that the ship was shot out of the Ether by a Technocracy vessel. Fortunately they crashed on an alternate Earth of cadhla's devising, which was at the Victorian level of development but a bit weird in other regards- no Technocracy, all the continents rotated through ninety degrees so that you got tropical jungles in Wales, Atlantis was alive and well but Asia was smashed into ten thousand islands by the earthquake, etc. This world's Siddharta Gautama's parents got the prophecy that their son would be either the greatest king or greatest spiritual leader the world had ever known, same as our world's did, but they tried to make their boy interested in things spiritual and he went for things temporal instead. Thus, no Buddha, and no Buddhism. And here's Ho, who left the monastery but who still had his bodhisattva vows; what's a man in his position to do except stick around and do his best to spread the dharma in a world that would otherwise literally never hear of it?

Waaaah, you have two--two--Order of Hermes pups. I know that's in WoD, but it makes me wish I was in NYC so I could run an Ars Magica campaign.

I mean, that Masters in medieval history has to be good for something.
