Guess who got evacuated from her office because of a widespread smell of mercaptan in NYC? (Natural gas has no discernible odor until they add mercaptan to it. Mercaptan is also known as 'the chemical that makes your pee smell funny after eating asparagus', to the best of my knowledge.)

Man, six years in the Red Cross and when I finally get to the corporate world we wind up running from a stink. Of all possible disasters, a stink...

Down here in Austin, they closed down ten blocks this morning on account of a bunch of mysteriously dead birds (http://news8austin.com/content/top_stories/default.asp?ArID=177444).
