I ran across this tree in the Sony Public Atrium in Manhattan today when I was on my way back to work from the bank.

I am currently running a plot at Milliways that involves Yog-Sothoth.

My copy of "Do You Fear Me?", from A Shoggoth On The Roof, started playing on my iPod as I walked into the aforementioned atrium.

I know I'm not in on the plot, but I recognise every single plot element you got there, hon. And you know, I run a game where we make a habit of assimilating characters from other fandoms and some associated plot elements into a single universe, which is different from running a massive crossoverse, but has given me a highly developed set of synthesis skills.

(I think you'd either love it or run away screaming because of the pairings/triads/polygons. Possibly both.)

It's under lock until we've completed the threads. We're calling it the Plot With Tentacles In, although at this point I"m not so sure if we're going ot have tentacles so much as claws and blobby spheres and things.

What with this and the growing presence of Nyarlathotep 'round and about, I am beginning to feel the need to dig up some sort of metaphysical barricade-ish thing.

What that might actually be, I'm not quite sure.

It just so happens that I've worked out both the star and the tree branch versions of the Elder Sign as knitting patterns and will be working them into hats and fingerless gloves this winter...

I haven't scanned them in yet. I'd like to make sure they look all right first. Standard graph paper doesn't have the same proportions as knitted stitches- it's all squares, but most knit stitches are taller than they are wide. As soon as I've swatched the tree in two colours I'll put that up. The star will follow- I've got a hat design I like and I think I can substitute the star-shaped Sign for the traditional Scandinavian style of star on the crown without too much trouble.
