I'd just like it noted, to those of you who read any of the stuff associated with Milliways at my RP journal gone_byebye, that the post I am planning to make sometime in the next few weeks with a character in it shaking his head ruefully and saying "Dude was such a racist"? Was so in the works before any actors made stupid attempts at going ballistic at hecklers. It's not meant as a satire on anybody except the person the character will be speaking of.

Besides, it's going to be funny.

Ray has a sister? Am I... Well, it's been ages since I used to watch The Real Ghostbusters, and I've never seen the new ones. Where did she come up?

She's not canon. I made her up for game purposes, along with the boys. The novelization of the movie gives Ray an older brother and younger sister, at least according to the Wikipedia article I read, but I have never seen the novelization anywhere and claim no use of its contents.

To my knowledge, the only relative given Ray by cartoon canon is his Aunt Lois.

yeah, because canon had him in and out of foster homes, right? His relationship with his siblings must be... new. As in, he couldn't have spent much time with them when they were all kids.

A lot of the fanfic I've read plays up him not having had any siblings and how the other Ghostbusters stand in for the brothers he never had.

I found that out only after the fact, I'm afraid. By the time I located the episode that mentioned the foster homes, I'd already said he'd lost his parents when he was in his senior year of college. Nobody really fussed too much about that, though, since I'd already said I was mostly working from the comic book continuity rather than the cartoon and the comic book didn't say anything about his family anyway.

There's a lot of fandoms where the continuity from one media is so different from that of another as to constitute Alternate Universes. So, your Ray has dark hair, another Ray has red hair, etc.

Yeah. I actually worked that into the game; Ray's been to the other continuities, generally by accident, as well as to a couple of other universes with slightly different versions of him and his fellows. Last October, for example, he bounced into a universe where they'd never lost their grant, and so never went into Ghostbusting instead of teaching, but the Shandor Building was still reaching critical mass anyway...

Unfortunately, I didn't properly link the gone_byebye posts to Milliways, or put them all in the memories section. But you can see some of the history I did for him in the link on his journal info page, and if you go back to the first journal postings in the archives for that journal, you can read at least some of it. Maybe when I come home (I'm on the train to Mom and Dad's) I'll assemble some links to some of his not-my-world plots.

Especially Agent Rho. THAT was bizarrely entertaining.
