Memo to self: there is a reason you started using both your cell phone and your Blackberry as alarm clocks, and it was not so that you did not have to be lazy about the snooze button. It was so that no matter how groggy you were, you had to snap awake at least twice in order to make the demon noises go away.

Trans.: Woke up this morning at 8:30+ wondering why the hell I hadn't been awakened at 6:45 the way I had set the alarm to do.

And yes, this happens when I use the actual alarm clock, too. buggrit.

On a different note, my new pups appear to be doing quite well at Milliways, the new pups being the Brigadier (fiveroundsrapid) and the one I will refer to as Whistler the Elder (dontlooklisten). Today Whistler will probably begin tagging people at random with the IC excuse of "Whoa! Sorry, didn't mean to hit you/your table/your chair/whatever with the cane. You okay?" Ray's got more October Hell to deal with; he'll probably have a call in Van Cortlandt Park today, followed by 'hey, look what they found on the Green Point waterfront!'. Wells is going to be in his world far away from civilisation because it's the day before full moon, but I may millitime some stuff with him and other people, and Quinn's hopefully going to get an OOM today. He and Creedy went home with all the books and nonperishables they could carry. Oh, and the Brig* may get an OOM tonight set during one of the early scenes in Doctor Who And The Silurians.

The hanging alarm clock (only alarm clock I've seen so far that might have installation issues!)

The jigsaw puzzle alarm (but I suspect if one had pets, the risk of a piece vanishng forever would be too high)

Or Clocky, which drops off the table and flees to a random point if you snooze it, so that the second time, you have to find it....

Clocky was an appealing thought, but my bed's in a loft and I'm afraid it'd run off the edge and plummet to its doom, thus putting me back to square one.

At this point I'm cudgeling my brains to try and place certain events that I know are in the Brigadier's chronology somewhere, but that either aren't mentioned in the show or are only referred to in passing. He's got a fairly expansive part in book canon but there are like EIGHT GAZILLION Doctor Who novels overall and they're not always considered canon on the same level as the TV program, so I have no clue when he and Fiona (the name given to his first wife in the books), let alone Doris (wife #2, referred to by name in I think two episodes, although the first time was before they were married). If I assume Fiona hasn't come into the picture yet, since Silurians was something like his third or fourth appearance, it makes my life (and his and probably Elizabeth's) a hell of a lot easier.

I was gonna call him Whistler the Squishy to distinguish him from the droid that the Star Wars Horde thinks of when they hear the name Whistler, but then I remembered that the Slayerverse players have their own Squishy Whistler- and that there's also the Whistler character in Blade. Since we have no Blade pups that I know of, and since Whistler is in his forties by the time of Sneakers, I assumed he was older than the Slayerverse Whistler. Thus, the Elder.

Also, I feel your pain on the alarm clock situation. I have a clock by my bed, the Treo (which gets placed in different spots), and an autotimer on the stereo system in the living room.

If I'm tired enough, I can sleepwalk and turn off ALL THREE. Grar.
